Incheon (Republic of Korea) Virtual, 22 October 2021 – In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Republic of Korea’s membership to the United Nations, UN organizations, funds and programmes operating in the Republic of Korea together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly organized a special panel discussion on key challenges to sustainable development and the role of the Republic of Korea in shaping the future of multilateralism.
The Policy Dialogue helped bring together prominent experts and stakeholders to discuss some of the key global challenges requiring global action and the role of the Republic of Korea in supporting and strengthening forward-looking multilateralism and the United Nations.
Ms. Hyun Jung Park, Coordinator of UNODC-KOSTAT CoE presented during the session 3 on ‘Innovation and Digital Transformation’, with a focus on major changes in our daily lives, and much-needed innovations in statistical data collection and analysis in supporting evidence-based policymaking.
With more than 300 participants, other prominent speakers are comprised of the Director-General for International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the directors/ heads of other UN agencies in the ROK.
